I was really excited about our trip to St. Louis, Missouri. Even though I knew our stay wouldn’t be very long, I was determined to make the most of every moment we had in this vibrant and welcoming city. St. Louis is one of those places that instantly makes you feel like there’s more to explore than time allows. From thrilling attractions to iconic landmarks and unforgettable food, this city truly has something for everyone. Our main reason for taking this trip was to visit Six Flags St. Louis, but once we arrived, it became clear that St. Louis offers far more than just amusement park fun. Every day felt full, exciting, and meaningful—even if it all went by too fast. The only thing I truly hated was that we didn’t stay as long as I would have liked.
The heart of our St. Louis adventure was Six Flags St. Louis, and it absolutely lived up to our expectations. From the moment we entered the park, the energy and excitement were contagious. Six Flags St. Louis has been around since 1971, and you can feel the history and tradition as you move through the park. There was so much to do and see that we easily spent the entire day there. The park offers a wide variety of rides, from intense roller coasters to attractions that the whole family can enjoy. Some of the standout rides for us were The Boss, Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast, and The Batman Ride. Each one delivered a different kind of thrill and had us laughing, screaming, and wanting to ride again. If you are afraid of heights then these rides are not for you. The park also offers rides for your smaller kids too. The park features a wonderful selection of kid-friendly rides such as Bugs Bunny National Park, Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers, Yosemite Sam Tugboat Tailspin, Tweety Goes Round, and Daffy’s Escape, making it easy for us to enjoy the day together. Watching our kids laugh, smile, and experience the magic of their first rides made our time at the park even more special. One important tip: bring comfortable walking shoes. The park is large, and you will definitely be doing a lot of walking. Between the rides, food stops, and entertainment, Six Flags St. Louis truly feels like a full experience rather than just a quick visit.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am very big on seafood, so finding a good seafood restaurant was high on my list while visiting St. Louis. That’s how we ended up at Crabs Landing, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of our trip. Crabs Landing is a Cajun-style restaurant known for its seafood boils, and everything about the meal was delicious. The seasoning was bold, the seafood was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were exactly what I was craving. It was the kind of meal where you don’t worry about getting messy because you’re too busy enjoying every bite. If seafood isn’t your thing, Crabs Landing still has options like fish and chicken, making it a great place for groups with different tastes. Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a flavorful meal, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The family and I enjoyed the service and the atmosphere there.
No visit to St. Louis would be complete without experiencing a piece of its brewing history. One of our memorable stops was the Budweiser Brew House, which perfectly captures the spirit of the city. Budweiser has deep roots in St. Louis, and visiting the Brew House felt like stepping into a living part of that history. The Budweiser Brew House has offered rotating beers on tap since 1876, along with new beers that you may have never tried before. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of energy. Even if you’re not a big beer drinker, the experience alone makes it worth stopping by. The food here was just as impressive as the drinks. The menu offered a variety of options, including handheld sandwiches, pasta dishes, fish and chips, and more. Everything we tried was flavorful and filling, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal after a busy day of exploring the city. This was an amazing stop because we were able to learn so much about the history of Budweiser.
Breakfast is another one of my favorite meals of the day, especially while traveling, so finding a good breakfast spot is always important to me. That’s how we discovered Chris’s Pancake and Dining, and I’m so glad we did. We enjoyed a classic breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and everything was cooked perfectly. The food was comforting, fresh, and exactly what we needed to start our day. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere made us feel right at home. Chris’s Pancake and Dining is one of those places that feels like a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why. I would most definitely return here again, not just for the food but for the welcoming experience as well. My family and I enjoyed stopping here.
One attraction I truly wanted to experience while visiting St. Louis was The Gateway Arch, and seeing it in person was absolutely breathtaking. Standing beneath one of the tallest monuments in the country is an experience that’s hard to describe until you see it for yourself. Taking the ride to the top of the Arch was unforgettable. Once there, we were rewarded with stunning views of downtown St. Louis, the Old Courthouse, the Mississippi River to the west, and Illinois to the east. It was one of those moments where you just pause, take it all in, and appreciate the beauty and history surrounding you. The Gateway Arch also offers a museum so that you can see and read the history of the Arch and St. Louis.
The day before we left, we made time to visit the St. Louis Zoo, and it turned out to be a perfect way to wrap up our trip. One of the best things about this zoo is that admission is completely free, which makes it an excellent option for families and travelers on a budget. While general admission is free, the zoo does offer paid attractions such as the 4D Theater, Conservation Carousel, and Sea Lion Show. I love visiting zoos because I enjoy learning about different animals and their ways of living, and the St. Louis Zoo offers an educational and enjoyable experience for all ages. If you’re visiting St. Louis, this is one stop you shouldn’t skip. It’s well-maintained, family-friendly, and full of opportunities to learn and explore. So please bring your walking shoes because this zoo is very large.
Our visit to St. Louis, Missouri may have been short, but it was filled with memorable experiences. From thrilling rides at Six Flags to incredible food, iconic landmarks, and family-friendly attractions, this city truly exceeded my expectations. The only downside was that we didn’t stay longer. There is still so much more to see and do, and I know for sure that I will be back. St. Louis left a lasting impression on me, and I can’t wait for the chance to return and explore even more of what this wonderful city has to offer.
