After checking into our downtown hotel, we were eager to explore all that Seattle had to offer. Our first stop was Dough Zone, a popular restaurant known for its flavorful dumplings, noodles, and pan-fried buns. The food was authentic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cozy—an ideal way to start our Seattle adventure. With a little daylight left, we wandered through the downtown streets and stumbled upon Voodoo Doughnut, an eclectic shop filled with creative and colorful doughnuts. From Blueberry Cake to Raspberry Romeo, every flavor was a sweet surprise. It was the perfect end to our first evening in Seattle.
The next morning, we headed to Pike Place Market, one of the oldest public markets in the United States. Established in 1907, this iconic marketplace is filled with farmers, artisans, and small local businesses. It’s the heart of Seattle’s community and one of the best places to experience the city’s culture. From fresh flowers and seafood to handmade crafts, there’s something special around every corner. Watching the famous “fish throwers” in action was an experience we’ll never forget—a lively tradition that captures Seattle’s unique spirit. Just a short walk away, the Seattle Waterfront offered even more excitement. We rode The Seattle Great Wheel, one of the tallest Ferris wheels on the West Coast, and took in stunning views of the city and Puget Sound. Nearby, Wings Over Washington offered a thrilling 5D flying theater experience that made us feel like we were soaring above the Pacific Northwest. Families will also love visiting the Seattle Aquarium, located right on the pier, where you can explore marine life up close.
When it came to dining, the waterfront didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Fisherman’s Restaurant, where we savored fresh seafood while watching boats glide across Elliott Bay. Later, we dined at The Crab Pot, famous for its hearty seafood feasts served right on the table—a fun, casual experience perfect for families or groups. Both restaurants offered amazing views, great food, and welcoming service. Of course, no visit to Seattle is complete without seeing the Space Needle. Built for the 1962 World’s Fair, this world-famous landmark rises over 600 feet above the city. From the observation deck, we enjoyed 360-degree views of downtown Seattle, the Olympic Mountains, and even Mount Rainier in the distance. It’s truly one of the most breathtaking sights in the Pacific Northwest. Speaking of Mount Rainier, we couldn’t leave without visiting the national park. The drive was scenic and peaceful, with snow-capped peaks, waterfalls, and evergreen forests surrounding us. Standing at over 14,000 feet, Mount Rainier is one of the most iconic natural landmarks in America—a perfect way to end our Seattle journey.
